Matcha Origin + Ceremonial Grade

Our organic matcha is grown in Uji (Kyoto), Japan. There, only the youngest, greenest green tea leaves from the first harvest are selected so that your matcha is extremely green, non-bitter, and full of antioxidants.

What is Ceremonial Grade?
"Ceremonial Grade" is the highest quality matcha available. It is made from the youngest, greenest green tea leaves and results in a fine, vibrant green powder that tastes creamy and slightly sweet.

Lower grades such as "Premium" or "Culinary," on the other hand, are produced from older leaves, have a darker/yellowish color, taste bitter (sometimes fishy), and have an unpleasant aftertaste.
